Inspection and testing scope
The applicable inspection and test plan is agreed against the valve specification, material and project requirements.
Chemical Composition Check
Mechanical Testing, including Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, Elongation, Reduction of Area (where applicable), and Hardness Check
Charpy V-Notch Impact Test for LTCS, where applicable
Intergranular Corrosion (IGC) Testing for Austenitic Stainless Steel materials, including castings and forgings
Corrosion Testing of Alloy 825 forgings in accordance with ASTM G28 Method A, where applicable
Radiographic Testing (RT) of critical areas of castings — 10% for Class 150–300 and size below 6", and 100% for other applicable valves
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) of forgings — 10% for Class 150–300 and size below 6", and 100% for other applicable valves

Ball valves: floating, trunnion mounted and top entry
Start with the process duty: isolation, flow regulation or prevention of reverse flow. PIP reviews the required valve type alongside the medium, pressure, temperature, materials and end connections.
Floating, trunnion and DBB configurations
Include the required construction, pressure class and size in your enquiry. For double block and bleed assemblies or actuated packages, provide the isolation arrangement and control requirements.
